If you know anything about us, you'll know that comic books run in our DNA. So, when we got the tap to pitch on this project through the Tongal platform, it was match made in heaven.
What ultimately won us the pitch, is our hybrid 2D/3D approach. The art direction called for a very visceral feel to the picture. We wanted to capture that feeling of opening a comic book for the first time. Flipping through the pages as your eyes dart from panel to panel. And generally, bringing a lot of volume to an otherwise flat 2D image.

The only assets we received for this project were the finalized print files. This meant we had to meticulously cut and draw over every single element that had movement. Especially tricky was matching the gorgeous print grain that came with the scanned pages.
We supplemented the original art with 2D FX, stylized animation and a breathing and living camera.

In our eyes this project is a great example of getting a lot out of your marketing budget. We commend the clients for giving us such creative freedom and trusting us every step of the way to the final product. It's what really helped us optimize and deliver such a high volume on a strict timeline and in scope.
